NPFL22: Rangers Int’l Head Coach Abdul Maikaba Laments The Poor State of The Teslim Balogun Stadium

The Antelope of Enugu, Rangers Int’l faced off with MFM FC who are bottom of the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League table, and with very few chances for both sides, it ended in a barren draw as the coach of visiting side blamed the home team’s pitch for affecting their football.

“The field did not allow the full flow of our football but I’m happy with this one point with the nature of the field,” Maikaba stated.

“Also taking into consideration our opponents are desperate to get three points so they can go out of relegation waters but at the same time we want it too to make our aspiration a reality,” the Rangers head coach said after the draw yesterday.

The Teslim Balogun Stadium has seen a heavy flow of football activities since last year even before hosting the AFCON and World Cup qualifying home games of the Super Eagles and with the closing of the Agege Stadium for renovation, the pitch has become home to teams in Nigeria top two leagues in Lagos.

MFM FC in the NPFL, Vandrezzer FC, Ikorodu City FC, Ottasolo FC, and Sporting Lagos FC in the NNL all play their home games in the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
