Head coach Usman Abd’Allah has declared that Remo Stars will approach their crucial Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash against Barau FC “in full force” as the club intensifies its fight for survival.
Speaking ahead of the Week 34 trip to Kano, Abd’Allah emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum following their hard-earned 1–0 victory over Shooting Stars in the Southwest derby.
The win, secured by a decisive second-half strike, provided a vital boost to Remo Stars’ survival hopes and underlined the growing resilience within the squad.
“It’s going to be competitive in Kano,” Abd’Allah stated.
“We are going to face Barau FC in full force. Our target is to get the three points. By the grace of God, we want to come back with something. At this stage, every match matters — we cannot afford to drop points.”
The upcoming fixture presents a stern test for Remo Stars, who sit in the relegation zone, 17th position with 40 points on he NPFL table after 33 matches while Barau FC occupy a relatively safer mid-table position.
However, Abd’Allah remains focused on his side’s objectives, stressing that consistency both home and away will determine their fate.
Since taking charge in late February, the former Kano Pillars tactician has steadied the team with improved performances, particularly at home.
Back-to-back victories on familiar turf have helped close the gap in the relegation battle, but the coach insists that away results must now complement their resurgence.
“For us, it’s about every game,” he added. “We must win our home matches, and we must also pick points on the road. Without that, survival will be very difficult. The struggle continues.”
Remo Stars’ trip to Kano is therefore more than just another league fixture, it is a defining moment in their campaign.
A positive result against Barau FC could significantly boost their chances of escaping the drop, while anything less may further complicate an already tense survival race.
As the NPFL season enters its decisive phase, Abd’Allah’s message is clear: determination, urgency, and maximum points are non-negotiable, ” Getting points in away games and winning all three points at home is deal’, Coach Abdullah stated.
