NPFL: Warri Wolves Celebrate Safe Arrival in Maiduguri After 24-Hour Road Ordeal

Warri Wolves Football Club have every reason to be thankful after finally touching down safely in Maiduguri on Saturday evening, ahead of their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 5 encounter against El-Kanemi Warriors.

The journey, which began in Asaba, turned into a dramatic and exhausting experience as the team endured multiple bus breakdowns on the road.

What should have been a routine trip eventually extended far beyond 24 hours.

The players and officials are fatigued by the time they arrived in the capital of Borno State.

According to reports, the Wolves’ convoy experienced mechanical faults that forced repeated stops and delays, stretching the journey well into the next day.

Despite the setbacks, the squad displayed resilience and unity, pushing through the difficulties until they eventually reached their destination around 5 p.m. on Saturday, less than 24 hours to kickoff.

In a message posted on their official Facebook page, the club expressed gratitude to God for the safe arrival, writing:

“Na God Dey Help Us! Wolves touched down in Maiduguri ahead of NPFL26 Matchday 5 clash against El-Kanemi Warriors FC.”

The heartfelt message reflects both the relief of the players and the determination to quickly shift focus to the crucial fixture.

Warri Wolves, who returned to the NPFL this season, have shown steady progress in their campaign and will be looking to put the travel ordeal behind them as they take on El-Kanemi Warriors.

The match promises to be a tough test, especially with the fatigue of the journey, but the team remains motivated to compete and earn valuable points on the road.

Fans will be hoping that the long trip becomes an inspiration rather than a setback as Wolves continue their NPFL26 adventure.
