NPFL: Shooting Stars Strongly Condemn Violence in Kano, Demand Justice

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) has strongly condemned the violent conduct directed at its players and officials during their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 8 fixture against Kano Pillars, held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.

According to the club, the match, which saw the home side take an early lead in the 9th minute — descended into chaos after Shooting Stars equalized in the 94th minute.

In the aftermath of the goal, fans allegedly breached security protocols, invaded the pitch, and launched dangerous objects, including stones, at 3SC players and officials.

Shooting Stars confirmed that several of its players were beaten and stoned, resulting in physical injuries.

The management of Shooting Stars unequivocally condemned the incident, describing it as appalling and unacceptable.

The club emphasized that football should remain a force for unity, passion, and community, stressing that there is no place for violence or intimidation within the game.

Shooting Stars also called on the Nigeria Premier Football League authorities and relevant security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation, bring the perpetrators to justice, and impose decisive disciplinary measures to ensure accountability.

The club noted that protecting the integrity of the sport and the safety of all participants must remain a top priority.

Reaffirming its commitment to fair play, professionalism, and respect across all competitions, Shooting Stars urged all stakeholders to work together in eradicating violence from Nigerian football.
