Rangers International and Remo Stars both recorded crucial victories on Monday to improve their standings in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
At the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, Rangers secured a hard-fought 1–0 win over Katsina United in their rescheduled Matchday 7 fixture.

The encounter, which had been halted on Sunday evening due to a torrential downpour, resumed at 8:30 a.m. with 25 minutes left to play.
Before the stoppage, the Flying Antelopes had created several chances but couldn’t convert. Chidebere Nwobodo narrowly missed a header from a set piece, while Godwin Obaje blasted over from close range.
Evans Ogbonda also came close with a fierce drive early in the second half.
The breakthrough finally came after the restart when Nnamdi Igwilo delivered a pinpoint cross that Obaje calmly slotted home in the 73rd minute , his third goal in two matches, following his brace against Wikki Tourists.
Katsina United pressed for an equaliser but were kept at bay by a resolute Rangers defence.
The tension boiled over late on when Alex Jerry of Rangers was sent off for violent conduct during a corner-kick tussle.
The victory lifted Rangers to 14th place on the log with eight points from seven games.
They will next face Abia Warriors in an eagerly anticipated Oriental Derby on Wednesday in Enugu.
Meanwhile, in Ikenne, Remo Stars Football Club continued their fine home form with a convincing 2–0 victory over Wikki Tourists in Abeokuta at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena.
Second-half goals from Adama Goita (80’) and Alex Oyowah (90’) sealed all three points for the Sky Blue Stars in front of their home supporters.
