The decision was reached after a hearing on Remo Stars’ appeal against an earlier ruling that banished the club to the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, for the remainder of the season.

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) had sanctioned Remo Stars after their supporters were found guilty of unruly conduct during a league fixture against Ikorodu City FC at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.

The incident reportedly resulted in injuries to supporters of Ikorodu City FC.

While the NFF Disciplinary Committee agreed with the NPFL’s findings regarding the misconduct of the fans, it opted to modify the severity of the punishment.

As part of the ruling, the Committee upheld the ₦5 million fine imposed on Remo Stars.

The three-match home ground ban will take effect from the date of the original sanction and will run concurrently.

The Committee also noted that its decision is without prejudice to the right of further appeal, in line with the provisions of the relevant regulations.
