The newly appointed Chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Honourable Taiwo Lekan Salami, has outlined a comprehensive 3Rs strategy—Reengineering, Restructuring, and Repositioning—aimed at restoring the club’s lost glory in Nigerian football.
Speaking at the Annual General Meeting and 2025/2026 NPFL Season Draws held on Monday at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Salami emphasized that the plan is designed for long-term transformation.

“Shooting Stars is not just a club for Ibadan but a traditional powerhouse for the entire South West region,” Salami stated. “We have brought in an experienced coach and signed players who will add value to the team. Our board is committed to returning 3SC to its glorious past.”
He added: “We have a very structured, transformational program for Shooting Stars. I call it the 3Rs—we want to reengineer the club, restructure it, and reposition it for future growth and development. Football is big business, and we’re making strategic changes, including strengthening our social media presence, to get things right.”
As the Oluyole Warriors prepare for their NPFL season opener against newly promoted Bayelsa United, Salami called on fans to rally behind the team.
“I want our supporters to come out en masse and see the new team and football philosophy we’re bringing to 3SC. The glory days are back. We’re expected to perform well, especially at home, and with your support and prayers, we’ll make you proud,” he assured.
Under the new leadership, 3SC has already begun a restructuring process, highlighted by a major backroom overhaul. Former Ikorodu City FC coach Nurudeen Aweroro has replaced Gbenga Ogunbote as head coach, marking the beginning of a new era for the Ibadan-based club.
