Nasarawa United strengthened their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title push with a hard-fought 2–1 away victory over Abia Warriors, closing the gap on leaders Rivers United after a Matchday 22.

Second-half goals from Habibu Alakija and JoFrank Istifanus overturned Emeka Obioma’s 42nd-minute opener to seal a crucial win for the Solid Miners in Umuahia.
The result lifted Nasarawa United to 38 points from 22 matches, cutting the deficit on Rivers United to three points.
League leaders Rivers United stayed top on 41 points from 21 games despite not being in action, as their fixture against Kwara United was postponed due to their involvement in the CAF Champions League clash against Power Dynamos.
Elsewhere, Enugu Rangers delivered a commanding performance to defeat Warri Wolves 4–2, with Godwin Obaje and Chimobi Igwilo both scoring braces.
The Flying Antelopes climbed to 36 points, keeping pace with the front runners.
In Minna, Niger Tornadoes secured a comfortable 2–0 win over Enyimba, thanks to goals from Abdulrasheed Shehu Dabai and Rickson Mendos, while Shooting Stars edged Bendel Insurance 1–0 in Ibadan through Qamar Adegoke’s second-half strike.
Late drama unfolded in Maiduguri as El Kanemi Warriors snatched a 1–0 victory over Ikorodu City, with Muktar Ismail netting in the 89th minute.
Other encounters saw Wikki Tourist beat Kano Pillars 2–0, Barau draw 1–1 with Bayelsa United, and Katsina United share points in a 0–0 stalemate with Plateau United.
With the standings tightening at the top and bottom, the NPFL title race and relegation battle remain wide open as the season progresses.
