NPFL: Kwara United Unveil 18 New Signings Ahead of 2025/26 Season

Kwara United Football Club have officially unveiled 18 new players as part of their preparations for the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The Harmony Boys, who will also represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup later this year, have reinforced their squad with a balance of youth and experience, adding seven strikers, four midfielders, five defenders, and two goalkeepers to their roster.

The new additions are expected to strengthen the team’s push both on the domestic and continental fronts.

During the unveiling ceremony in Ilorin, Club Chairman Mr. Kumbi Titiloye, represented by the General Manager Bashir Badawiy, assured fans that the team is “battle ready for the task ahead.”

Badawiy revealed that 14 players have been retained from last season, while 13 players left on their own accord without financial commitments.

He explained that the club deliberately prioritized quality signings to ensure balance across every department of the squad.

“Our focus was to bring in talented players who can make immediate impact, while also building a strong team culture,” he said. “We are fully aware of the expectations of our fans and the challenges of competing on two fronts.”

The Kwara United boss also reiterated the NPFL’s strict stance on integrity and discipline, particularly warning players against involvement in betting and other unethical behaviors.

He noted that the players are aware of the sanctions and have pledged full compliance with league ethics.

Badawiy further thanked stakeholders, supporters, and the Kwara State government for their continued backing, urging them to remain steadfast as the team embarks on a busy season.
