NPFL: Katsina United’s Coach Abubakar Hails ‘Double Victory’ Over Kano Pillars in Thrilling Encounter

Katsina United triumphed over the formidable Kano Pillars in a thrilling 3-2 victory in the NPFL. The post-match atmosphere was electric as Coach Bala Abubakar, brimming with elation, lauded his team’s stellar performance, hailing it as a “double victory.”

Coach Abubakar expressed his jubilation, “in fact I am in a very happy mood because today I can say it’s a double victory. Because playing against Kano Pillars which is one of the best clubs in this country in the NPFL and the boys giving a good account of themselves, this is the first time in the second round they have scored three times and it is a beautiful one. Secondly again before this match we were on a five match unbeaten streak and now making it six and that’s why I called it a double victory and I am certainly happy with the boys the way they gave everything to this match.”

The victory against Kano Pillars extended Katsina United’s unbeaten streak to an impressive six matches, a feat Coach Abubakar attributed to the positive atmosphere fostered within the club. “I have told myself that the atmosphere around the club is a very conducive one and a very highly motivating one because of the support from the management and the management showing that every welfare of the players have been taken care off making sure they are paying their salaries quickly and paying their match bonus as at when due it is a motivation to the boys and the boys are really inspired and ready to give their all and by the special grace of God, We are expecting to extend the unbeaten run.”

Looking ahead, Coach Abubakar acknowledged the imminent challenge posed by their upcoming fixture against Lobi Stars. Despite the short turnaround time of three days, “Yes, it is going to be a big one and it is not a local derby for the club but as far as i am concerned It’s a local baby derby to me and by the grace of God we are going to work very hard. We are going to work on areas that we feel we should work on which are weak areas before the next match. There is no time, it is a match in 4 days and we are going to prepare fully to see that we get something out of the match.”

Amidst the jubilation, Coach Abubakar took a moment to appreciate the fervent support of the Katsina United fans. “I am very happy the way they massively came out and the way they were fully behind the team throughout the 90 minutes. I believe they have watched good football. I believe they enjoyed the game. I believe they have also enjoyed the victory. I want them to continue coming out massively to give us their full support.“
