Kano Pillars General Manager, Ahmed Musa, has issued a strong statement condemning the violent scenes that marred their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) home game against Shooting Stars Sports Club on Sunday evening.
In a heartfelt message, Musa described the incident as “heartbreaking, shameful, and completely unacceptable,” adding that it does not reflect the true values or proud history of Kano Pillars Football Club.

“This club has always stood for community, passion, and respect — values that must never be overshadowed by violence or indiscipline,” Musa said. “Sadly, today, we fell far short of that standard.”
The former Super Eagles captain tendered an unreserved apology to Shooting Stars, the match referees, NPFL board, GTI partners, league organisers, and football fans across Nigeria who were left shocked by the incident.
“Violence has no place in football. It is unacceptable, unjustifiable, and goes against everything this beautiful sport stands for,” he added.
Musa assured stakeholders that Kano Pillars FC will cooperate fully with relevant authorities to identify and sanction individuals involved in the attack.
He pledged that the club would take immediate internal measures to ensure such an occurrence never repeats.
Addressing the club’s supporters directly, Musa reminded fans that true loyalty should be expressed through “respect, passion, and discipline,” not aggression.
“This must be a turning point for us. Our passion should lift the club’s image, not stain it,” he said.
Concluding his statement, Musa reiterated Kano Pillars’ commitment to restoring trust, integrity, and the true spirit of football in Kano and across Nigeria.
