NPFL: Heartland FC GM, Nwachukwu Lauds Governor Uzodinma, Okonkwo’s Support For Naze Millionaires

Heartland FC General Manager, Promise Nwachukwu has hailed the steadfastness and professionalism of the players and coaches of the Naze Millionaires and he also thumbed up the massive support the team is receiving from the Imo State Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma and Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development, Honourable Emeka Okoronkwo.

Nwachukwu who spoke with the club media after the energy-sapping 1-0 home win over Bendel Insurance on Wednesday in Owerri said with the end to the winless streak, Heartland can only grow from strength to strength in subsequent league games as they strive to leave the relegation zone.

He praised the players, technical crew and other officials of the club for working round the clock to ensure the first win of the season was achieved but enjoined them to be focused on the next task which is to consolidate on the victory over Bendel Insurance.

The General Manager also disclosed that the support the team enjoys from the state government through the Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development, Honourable Emeka Okoronkwo is the reason the recent changes have helped to galvanise the team towards ensuring that some of the mistakes committed at the start of the season are corrected.

He said the club’s management has implicit trust in Kennedy Boboye and that he was elated that the Naze Millionaires played the game with Bendel Insurance with an identity which he believes will take more shape under the new coach.

“We are all happy that the jinx has been broken. We shall now play all our games with the mindset that we can win them. I want to especially thank the players, the coaches and other officials for the job done to ensure we get our first home,” Nwachukwu told the club media.

“It was a tough game but the players proved to be up to the task after they carried out the coach’s instructions. We have got our first win and the next task is to get our second and even more.

“I want to thank the Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma for the love and support to the team through the Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development, Honourable Emeka Okoronkwo. We want to continue to make them and Imo people proud.”

Heartland FC will travel to Gombe to be a guest of Gombe United this weekend in a Matchday 13 tie.
