NPFL Golden Boot: Yusuf Bags Another As Obaje Joins Race

In form Sunshine striker, Sadeeq Yusuf again scored another goal to uphold his place at the top of the goal scorers chart.

Yusuf’s 73rd-minute strike to bring his team level after Heartland had taken an early lead in their week 11 NPFL clash became the striker’s 8th of the season.

Yusuf is closely followed by Akwa Ibom’s Ndifreke Effiong with 7 goals.

Effiong did not score on the weekend but was involved in the goal as he provided an assist for Charles Atshimene.

While the battle is getting intense between the two, another striker joined in the race.

Abia Warriors’ Godwin Obaje bagged a brace in their 4-1 thrashing of Warri Wolves on the match day.

Obaje’s efforts were complemented by Paul Samson’s goal in the game.

Samson after scoring a bulletin last week’s Oriental derby netted his second of the season in the win.

Nonso Nzediegwu was the star man after bagging a brace in FC Ifeanyi Ubah’s thrashing of Katsina United.

More goals are expected to be scored on matchday 12.
