The Harmony Boys boosted their survival hopes with the important Matchday 37 victory, thanks to a first-half brace from Babatunde Bright.

Speaking after the game, Brazil described the encounter as a difficult but well-planned contest.

“It was a tough game, but it was a game that we really planned for and we were ready for. Winning the game put us in a better position to escape the relegation zone completely.”

The Kwara United coach commended his players for showing character under pressure.

“I will give credit to the boys for their determination. We were prepared for it and we were able to beat them.”

Brazil also singled out match-winner Babatunde Bright for praise after the forward scored twice in the opening half.

“He scored one of our goals last week and he was able to produce another very good performance yesterday by scoring two goals in the first half.”

Reflecting on the overall NPFL campaign, the coach described the 2025/26 season as one of the most competitive in recent years.

“This year’s league is very, very competitive. At this moment, only two clubs have confirmed relegation and even the league winner cannot be decided until the final matchday.”

“It has been a very good experience playing in the Premier League this season and we hope the league continues to improve.”

Kwara United will conclude their season away against Bayelsa United, and Brazil insists his side will still go all out for victory despite their opponents already being relegated.

“We are going there to make sure we continue to play our game the way we have been playing. We must get the three points so that we can be comfortable on the table and protect our NPFL status.”

The coach also appreciated football fans in Lagos for supporting Kwara United throughout the season while the club played several home matches in the city.

“We have to appreciate Lagosians. The support was massive. We played all our games in Lagos, we only drew one and won the rest. The atmosphere was very good and conducive for us.”

On the title race, Brazil believes the battle remains completely open heading into the final day, with Rangers International and Rivers United both still in contention.

“Both teams need to win their last match. Rangers are coming to Lagos to face Ikorodu City and Ikorodu also want to win for continental qualification, so it’s going to be tough. The team that wins the league will only be decided on the final day.”
