NPFL: Bendel Insurance Suspends Coach Greg Ikhenoba, Bazuaye Takes Over in Interim Capacity

Bendel Insurance Football Club have confirmed the suspension of their Head Coach, Greg Ikhenoba, following an official directive from the Edo State Sports Commission.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele.

The chaiman approved the immediate suspension of Ikhenoba.

The decision comes amid growing concerns over the club’s recent performances in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The club further announced the appointment of Coach Baldwin Bazuaye, the Executive Director of the Edo Sports Commission, as interim manager. Bazuaye.

Bazuaye is a former player and coach of the Benin Arsenal, his job is to stabilize the team and restore confidence in the squad ahead of upcoming fixtures.

Bendel Insurance, who have struggled to find consistent form this season, will be hoping the shake-up in the technical bench sparks a positive turnaround as they continue their NPFL campaign.

The team is currently seated on the 16th position with only 6 points in possible 21 points.
