The NPFL Chairman, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, stated that “we want to ensure that every NPFL Club has a competitive youth team” when announcing the committee’s makeup on Monday morning.

He added that every licensed club must have a youth team that will play in the Youth League in accordance with the Club Licensing Regulations.

“When some NPFL players get older and others relocate overseas, the Youth League will serve as a development center for the upcoming generation of players.” In this manner, Elegbeleye informed NPFL Media, “We would have a transition structure and also give the nation options in youth development football at the U-15, U-17, and U-20 levels.”
