NPFL: AKWA UNITED EXPRESS READINESS FOR MAIKABA’S RETURN TO UYO

The players and coaching crew of Akwa United football club have expressed sound readiness ahead of their Matchday 4 clash against Plateau United, in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Akwa United, who just last night returned with their first point and first goal of the season against former champions, Kano Pillars in Kano were in training earlier today; Tuesday, ahead of the all important clash at home.

The Promise keepers players Cyril Olisema and Michael Ibe both expressed profound confidence built upon the draw secured on the road and a clear vision of the goal ahead as major boosts towards securing the 3points required to put their charge for the title back on course.

Abdul Maikaba, the coach of Plateau United adds another interesting dimension to the match on wednesday, being the immediate past handler of Akwa United with a good knowlegde of some of the players who may be starting for the home team, but Rafael Everton insists that the tactics have changed and so has the approach hence Maikaba’s effect is set to be minimal when the two teams lock Horns.

Akwa United would be looking to ease the discomfort and disappointment felt by their home fans when they lost to El-Kanemi on match day 1 as well as keep themselves in the title race considering the Abridged nature of the League this season.
