NPFL: Adelowo Reflects on 3SC’s Narrow Victory Over Kano Pillars

Defender Gbolagade Adelowo has shared his thoughts following Shooting Stars SC’s hard-fough 2–1 home win against Kano Pillars FC.

Speaking to 3SCfanTV in a post-match interview, Adelowo offered a calm and reflective assessment of the performance, emphasizing the team’s ongoing efforts to improve, particularly in defending set pieces.

“Yes, we have been working on set pieces,” the defender explained. “As a defender, I need to do my possible best to defend well.”

Despite securing all three points, Adelowo admitted that the team remains concerned about conceding from dead-ball situations — an area that has troubled them in recent matches.

“The whole team is worried about conceding goals through set pieces, as it has been a way we’ve been conceding lately. We look forward to working on it,” he added.

The victory provides a morale boost for Shooting Stars, but the defender’s comments underline a clear awareness within the squad that improvements are still required. Defensive organization and concentration during corners and free-kicks will be key focus areas in training as they aim to build consistency in their campaign.

For Adelowo and his teammates, the objective is not just winning, but tightening up at the back to avoid preventable setbacks in future fixtures.
