The hosts broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute through in-form forward Obioma Chukwuemeka, who continued his impressive scoring run.
Chukwuemeka showed composure inside the box to convert after a well-weighted assist from Megwo Sunday, sending the home fans into celebration and giving Abia Warriors a deserved lead following a strong start to the second half.
However, the advantage was short-lived. Just four minutes later, Wikki Tourists found a response through former Abia Warriors striker Taheer Abubakar.
The forward, who knows the home turf well, made no mistake as he struck the equaliser in the 56th minute, restoring parity and silencing the crowd. Out of respect for his former club, Abubakar kept his celebrations muted.
The remainder of the match saw both teams push for a winning goal, with Abia Warriors enjoying more possession while Wikki Tourists remained dangerous on the counterattack.
Despite several half-chances at both ends, neither side could find the decisive breakthrough, as defensive discipline and goalkeeping ensured the scoreline remained unchanged until the final whistle.
The draw leaves Abia Warriors reflecting on missed opportunities at home, while Wikki Tourists will take encouragement from earning a valuable point on the road. As the NPFL season progresses, both teams will look to build on this result as they seek consistency and momentum in their respective campaigns.
