NPFL 2022/23 : Insurance Will Triumph Over Remo Stars, Obasogie, Anyanwu confident

Stand in Captain and Goalkeeper of Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin, Amas Obasogie and defender Sunday Anyanwu have expressed their confidence that the Benin Arsenals will triumph over archrival, Remo Stars of Ikenne,Ogun state when they host the South Westerners at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium tomorrow, (Saturday), January 28,2023.

The duo gave the assurance of victory shortly after Insurance evening training session at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Thursday.

Bendel Insurance FC will be playing host to Remo Stars in the Nigeria Professional Football League week four game in Benin tomorrow. Kickoff time is 4PM.

It is a battle of the group A giants as both teams have maintained a hundred percent win since the kickoff of the new season on Sunday January 8,2023. They have both played three games and won all. They remain top of the table with 9 points each. However, Remo Stars top the table with a goal difference.

Insurance visitors in the week four fixtures are familiar foes. Insurance have had upper hand in their last three encounters and those meetings were in the Nigeria National League in 2020/ 2021 season. Insurance pipped Remo Stars 1-0 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium and drew goalless with the coach Danie Ogunmodede led side in the return leg in Ikenne.

Recall that the goalless return leg match in Ikenne leaves bitter taste in the mouth of Bendel Insurance as their fans invaded the pitch to unleash terror on the players and officials of Bendel Insurance FC.
The Insurance FC management and players have since forgiven the Ikenne club and moved on.
Their last meeting was at the 2021 NNL Super 8 at the NNamdi Azikiwe International Stadium in Enugu and the match ended in 2-2 stalemate.

Insurance, no doubt will be filing out against their visitors on Saturday with confidence having shocked some big clubs and title favourites like Akwa Utd 2-0 in Uyo, Plateau Utd 2-1 in Benin and Kwara Utd 1-0 away from home in Ibadan.

On the other hand, Remo Stars began the season with a 2-0 victory over El-Kanemi Warriors in Ikenne and travelled to Gombe to snatched a 1-0 victory over Gombe Utd before returning to Ikenne to beat Shooting Stars 2-0 in the Southwest debby on Wednesday.

Looking at the performance and results posted by both sides, it is clear that they have good defence network as they have hardly conceded goals.
On star match of group A at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, the likes of Imade Osarenkhoe, Sarki Ismael,Deputy Echeta,Divine Nwachukwu and Austin Ogunye who are hungry for goals would make it difficult for the visitors to escape without conceding.

The Bendel Insurance, Remo stars clash promises to be a blockbuster as fans and journalists will have much to talk about.

Meanwhile, the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium gate is thrown open for Football lovers by Edo State Government as management of the Sports Commission invites Benin residents and fans to come cheer up Bendel Insurance FC during the star match
