NPFL 2022/23 : 3SC Fired Blank As Enyimba Int’l Ease Pass Them With Two Goals

It was yet another bad day on the road as Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan lost 0-2 to Enyimba of Aba in a matchday eight encounter, played at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.

The midweek cracker was won and lost in the first half as the People’s Elephants grabbed all maximum points via Emeka Obioma’s brace.

In the bid to change the fortune of the club, coach Gbenga Ogunbote effected sone changes in the starting line up, with goalkeeper Bamidele Adeniyi returning, while Adebayo Alimi made his debut appearance, pairing skipper Omololu Waheed in the heart of the defence, just as Ubong Williams and Anietie Uko made the first eleven.

It took the homers just two minutes into the gane to open scoring through Emeka Obioma, who doubled the lead for his side in the closing minute of the first half.

The second half produced no goal as the Oluyole Warriors succeded in preventing the hosts from adding to their tally but could not find the back of the net either, till the end of the match.

Shooting Stars will play host to Akwa United on Sunday in a matchday nine fixture, which climaxes the first round of the 2022/23 season, being played in an abridged format.
