NPFL 2020/21 Match Week 3: Enugu Rangers, Dakkada FC Grab First Away As Plateau United Earns First Maximum Points…

Enugu Rangers on Sunday grabbed their first away win of the NPFL 2020/21 league campaign, after winning 1-0 away from home against Jigawa FC.

Israel Abia who scored the winning goal for Salisu Yusuf’s side in their Match Week 2 fixture against Akwa United was on target yet again, as he scored again in the 79th minute of the encounter to continue his impressive goalscoring form to hand the Flying Antelopes all maximum points.

There was also an away win for Dakkada Fc who defeated Ifeanyi Ubah 1-0 away from home, in Nnewi, Anambra State, with Nnamdi Mejuobi scoring the only goal of the game in the 29th minute.

In Jos, Plateau United marked their first win of the league season with an impressive 3-0 thrashing of Heartland Fc. Goals from Muhammadu Zulkifilu in the 19th minute, Amos Gyang from the penalty spot in the 55th minute, and Jessie Akila in the 60th minute handed the Jos Based side all three points in the fascinating encounter.

“In Aba, Enyimba defeated Wikki Tourists by 1-0, with Nabil Yarou scoring the only goal of the game in the 24th minute, to give the Peoples Elephant all three points.

In Katsina, Katsina United defeated Adamawa United 2-0. Rasheed Ahmed scoring a brace (2 goals) to seal the win for Katsina United in the Northern derby.

In Makurdi, Lobi Stars thrashed Warri Wolves 3-0. Goals from Ossy Martin in the 1st minute, Mathias Samuel in the 64th minute, and Chinonso Okonkwo in the 90 minutes of the game gave Lobi stars all maximum points.

In the South West Derby, MFM Fc defeated Sunshine Stars 1-0 at the Soccer Temple Stadium in Agege, Lagos State, with Dennis Obasi scoring the only goal of the game in the 7th minute to give the Odukoya boys all three points.

In Port Harcourt, Rivers United continued their impressive form in the league as they humbled Kwara United 3-0. Goals from Ifeanyi Anaemena in the 32nd minute, Godwin Aguda in the 33rd minute, and Chika Godwin from the Penalty spot in the 90th minute of the game gave Stanley Eguma’s troops all three points, as they continued their Cinderella Story in the league.

The only draw of Match Week 3 came at Lafia when Nasarawa United and Kano Pillars played out an entertaining 1-1 draw. Nyima Nwagua scored in the 48th minute for Kano Pillars, but his goal was canceled out by Adamu Hassan in the 83rd minute of the game to share the spoils for both teams in the encounter.
