NPFL 2020/21: Enyimba, Rivers United Return To League Actions After Continental Battle

After getting at each other’s throats on the continent for a spot in the group stages of the CAF Confederation’s Cup, Enyimba and Rivers United return to NPFL action on matchday 12.

The Elephants sailed through the Rivers via a penalty to book a spot in the CAF Confederation’s Cup where they are. Kw grouped in Group A.

After missing out of league actions for 2 weeks, both teams return to continue their chase for the NPFL title.

With 2 games at hand, Enyimba were displaced at the summit of the table by Kwara United while Rivers United dropped to fifth also with two games at hand.

Enyimba face the hard return to league action as they face Akwa United in Aba on Wednesday while Rivers United visits sinking Warri Wolves.

Although in the last few games Enyimba had got the better of their guests at the same venue but rejuvenated Akwa United could cause problems on the night.

Rivers United looks to have an easy task although the fact that it is a South-South derby could make the match hard but for them to crack.

Fatai Osho will have Tosin Omeyele back into the Enyimba squad and will keep faith in, in form winger Anayo Iwuala.

Stanley Eguma has no injury worries as his Rivers United side are ready to go.

Depending on results from Ilorin where Kwara United takes on Abia Warriors, Enyimba could go back to the zenith while Rivers United with a win will start their crawl back to the top.
