NPFL 2020/21: Defensive Errors Caused Us The Game Against Kwara United- Abdul Maikaba Admits…Says His Team Will Amend Their Mistakes In Subsequent Matches

After his team’s 0-2 home loss to Kwara United, Head Coach of Plateau United, Abdul Maikaba has blamed defensive errors for his side’s 0-2 home loss to Kwara United in the opening match of the new NPFL season.

The Jos based side lost 0-2 at home to Kwara United, with Jide Fatokun (62nd minute) and Michael Ohanu (69th minute) scoring the goals for Kwara United which ensured a nightmare start for the defending NPFL Champions.

In a chat with Sports247, Coach of Plateau United, after the loss, commended Kwara United for an impressive performance and also blamed his team’s poor defensive errors for their loss, stating that his side will amend the mistakes of this first game, as subsequent matches comes through.

“I will like to commend Kwara United for the win, they really capitalized on our mistakes at the back. Poor defending really cost us the game, which we will try to correct in our subsequent matches”. he said.

In other results of the Match Day 1 of the New NPFL season (2020/2021), Adamawa United and Kano Pillars played out a 1-1 draw, Nasarawa United defeated Wikki Tourist of Bauchi 2-1, Jigawa Golden Stars defeated Sunshine Stars 1-0, FC Ifeanyi Ubah defeated Lobi Stars of Makurdi 1-0, MFM defeated Warri Wolves 2-1, Akwa United and Dakkada Fc played out a goalless draw (0-0) and Katsina United defeated Heartland Fc of Owerri 3-2.
