NPFL 2020/21: Bragging Rights Ends As Plateau Break Solid Miners’ Wings

After a sailing start to the NPFL season, Nasarawa United final hits head on the rock as they suffered their first loss of the season in the 1-0 loss to Plateau United in Jos.

The Solid Miners had been unbeaten since the start of the season going on a 6 match unbeaten streak.

Plateau United’s Mohammed Zulkifilu scored the match-winner in the 36minute to nail the visitor’s to cross.

Speaking after the match to journalists including Sports247, head coach of the Solid Miners, Bala Nikyu praised the spirit of his team throughout the game.

“The match is about winning, losing, and drawing so it was not that we were beaten, rather we had a good time.”

“I thought we will continue our good run but it was quite unfortunate that we lost today against Plateau United. I am not disappointed with my boys,” he concluded.

Looking ahead to the next game against Enyimba of Aba, the gaffer assured Nasarawa United fans that they will bounce back against the Elephants.

“Enyimba aren’t Arsenal or Manchester United. They’re beatable. We will bounce back.”

Despite the loss, Nasarawa United are still top of the NPFL log pending results from the match between Rivers United and Adamawa United on Sunday.
