Noni Madueke Pushes Aside Personal Glee, After Scoring Against Bayern Munich In UCL

Arsenal of England’s Nigerian-born star, Noni Madueke has brushed aside any personal glee, after netting one of the goals that helped his side sink Bayern Munich of Germany in the UEFA Champions League, Sports247 reports.

Goals from Madueke, Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Martinelli helped Arsenal get a shock 3-1 win over Bayern on Wednesday night, as The Gunners took their fine domestic form into Europe.

Madueke converted from a neat pass by fellow-sub, Riccardo Calafiori, but the out of favour England winger is refusing to highlight the individual brilliance he gave on the magical night.

The Gunners’ supporters are still overly critical of Madueke’s £52m arrival from their London rivals, Chelsea but, while he previously responded to anyone who thinks he’s not good ebough, Noni is now taking it in his stride.

He said, “The fixture is not about me. The fixture is about Arsenal getting another three points and being closer to our objective. It might be a little bit hostile, it might not be, but I am a professional footballer.”

The Nigerian-born winger concluded with an assurance that he is also eager to focus fully on trying to prove himself at Emirates Stadium and pledged to work hard not to be distracted by criticism.

“I don’t know if anything will faze me, I will just be focused on the task ahead. That is the most important thing. It is about our team and trying to win the game,” Madueke submitted.
