Noni Madueke Credited With Several Milestones After ‘Freak Goal’ Against Leeds United

Arsenal winger, Noni Madueke has been granted a number of milestones, after he was credited with a goal in The Gunners’ 4-0 win away to Leeds United in the English Premier League this past weekend.

Sports247 reports that, though it was officially recorded as an own goal, many EPL analysts credited it to the Nigerian-born winger, thereby helping him put an end to a drought that extended for 12 months.

The drought came to an end after the former Chelsea star enacted an Olimpico strike at Elland Road, where he only went into Arsenal’s starting 11 due to Bukayo Saka’s injury during warm-up.

Madueke, who was a constant threat in the match, particularly from set-pieces, made history with a curling corner in the 38th minute, which forced Leeds keeper, Karl Darlow into a desperate punch that hit Dominic Calvert-Lewin and the post.

His previous EPL goal was for Chelsea against Manchester City in January 2025, and the Nigerian-born lad’s return to scoring form adds another vital dimension to Arsenal’s depth, as they continue to lead the EPL table.

Though officially recorded as an own goal, many news outlets gave it to the Arsenal winger, who also has three sizzlers in the UEFA Champions League this season since arriving at Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2025.
