Noni Madueke ‘Begs’ To Be Credited With Arsenal’s Goal Against Leeds United

Arsenal winger, Noni Madueke has come out with a startling appeal to be credited with a sizzler for his side that was ruled as an own goal against Leeds United some weeks back in the English Premier League.

Sports247 reports that, though the game is almost forgotten, as The Gunners have already played Wolverhampton Wanders and Tottenham Hotspur since then, Madueke is still worried about it.

The Nigerian-born England international argued that it was not an own goal, as the ball came off his effort that was clearly out of the reach of the Leeds keeper, hence his appeal for it to be recorded with his name.

A report by Tribal Football revealed, “Madueke has urged the Premier League to credit him with a goal against Leeds, which was officially recorded as an own goal by Karl Darlow.

“Remarkably, he wasn’t in the original starting XI but was called up just five minutes before kickoff after Bukayo Saka’s warm-up injury and instantly became the driving force behind Arsenal’s first-half dominance.”

Madueke added, “How can that be an own goal? It was going on target, if the keeper’s not in the goal then it goes in. I don’t understand how that’s an own goal. So, Premier League, please take a look at that and fix it for me.”
