NOC Showers Accolades On Team Nigeria’s Athletes

The president of Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Engineer Habu Gumel, has showered an avalanche of accolades on the country’s athletes to this year’s African Games in Accra, Ghana.

While giving thumbs up to Team Nigeria’s historic second position on the final medals table at the weekend, Engineer Gumel noted that the results came through determination and hard work.

He stated further in a press release signed by NOC media officer, Tony Nezianya that all members of the contingent to Ghana 2024 made Nigeria proud with their unwavering dedication and remarkable performances.

While thanking the sports minister, Senator John Owan Enoh, and all stakeholders for their various roles in Team Nigeria’s success, Gumel added that such commitment and zeal will bring more succes to Nigeria in future competitions.

He prayed for more of such success and even greater ones in years to come, noting that their achievements in Ghana brought pride, glory, and national honor home to Nigeria.

Gumel enthused: “It is with immense pleasure and great admiration that the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) extends their heartfelt commendation to every member of Team Nigeria for your remarkable performance at the 13th African Games.

“It was through dedication and hard work that the team emerged the overall second, with a total of 121 medals – 47 gold, 34 silver, and 40 bronze.

“Your exceptional achievements and unwavering dedication during these games have brought immense pride and glory to our nation.

“You have made us proud, and we eagerly anticipate your continued success in the future. May your journey be filled with continued triumphs, lifelong memories, and the unwavering support of a great nation.”
