Noah Ajayi Becomes Latest Nigerian-born Youngster To Show Sensational Promise At Manchester United

Another Nigerian-born youngster has sensationally popped into the spotlight at Manchester United of England, as rave reviews are trailing the recent exploits of a lad named Noah Ajayi, Sports247 gathered.

Although the new rave of the moment at Old Trafford was born in Hamburg, Germany, who are about to cap him at youth level, he is still eligible to play for England and his father’s country, Nigeria.

Ajayi, who moved to England at the age of 10, made his debut for Manchester United’s under-21 side when he was just 16, and it came during a 4-1 win over Reading at the end of last season.

He replaced Sam Mather in the 84th minute, to play alongside Gabriele Biancheri and James Scanlon in attack, following which he made his competitive under-18s debut just a day later in a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

It was just last year that Ajayi signed a professional contract with United and he has since become a regular with The Red Devils’ under-18 team, for which he scored his first goal in December during a 3-0 win over Newcastle United.

Ajayi has been making huge headway this season after signing his scholarship in 2025 and he was mobbed by his teammates after a knee slide celebration during Wednesday’s Youth Cup comeback victory.

A report by UK’s Sun Sport added, “With United struggling to gain a foothold against the Black Cats, Ajayi took matters into his own hands when he opened the scoring from range.

“The giant left-winger, 17, cut inside on his right foot with a driven shot into the bottom corner before half-time, (marking) the dual-national forward’s first goal at Old Trafford and his third in four matches for the Under 18s.

“Ajayi is eligible to play for Germany by birth and England by residency, as well as Nigeria through his father. Germany have moved ahead and are set to offer him a maiden call for this month’s European U19 Championship qualifiers.”
