The National President of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Honour Sirawoo has squashed reports of any crisis in the Oyo State SWAN urging members to support the new executive board led by Olaolu Fawole.
Sirawoo, who confirmed this in Abuja stated that the National body will back the new body and charged the state chapter to accommodate as well as protect the interest of every member.
“We are not going to force you to be part of it, rather we are going to move with those that will manage that association in that state. There is no crisis in SWAN in Oyo.”
Sirawoo spoke further on development : “SWAN should protect the interest of members in terms of welfare. Exposing members to knowledge, training and facilities.”
In response, the Chairman Oyo State SWAN, Olaolu Fawole affirmed that the body will uphold the interest of members. He also promised that events are lined out to expand the frontiers of knowledge of sports journalists in Oyo State.
