NNL Super-4: Sporting Lagos’ Captain Solomon Uloko Receives Motivation For Victory From Reading Holy Bible

The captain of Sporting Lagos FC, Solomon Uloko has disclosed that he motivates himself by reading the Holy Bible before each match in order to get spiritual guidance, Sports247 reports.

The versatile right-back, who hails from Cross River State but grew up in Benin City, also said ahead of his team’s opening match of the Nigerian National League (NNL) Super-4 in Ikenne, Ogun State that he is lucky to have teammates who are very cooperative.

Uloko, who attends Winners Chapel, further noted that the spirit of togetherness among all players in the camp of Sporting Lagos, plus encouragement they get from the club’s management give him confidence for victory over Ranchers Bees of Kaduna on Monday.

“Before every match, I try to calm myself and steady my nerves. I’m always kind of a little nervous before each game. That’s why I try to read the Bible and get into the right mindset.

“I also try my best, as the captain, to motivate my teammates. I’m very grateful for the kind of teammates that I have. We have the same mindset to win, and we share all our ambitions in common.

“That helps me a lot, because it means I don’t have to talk too much. I just drop a few words, and I quickly get that feeling that we can win.

“We also have a very fantastic management, and I will say this is one of the best clubs in the country right now,” affirmed Uloko, who arrived at his present base from local rivals, Inter Lagos last season.
