NNL Mid Season Transfer Window Opens As Clubs Urged to Conduct Fresh Covid-19 Test…Season Resumes April 23

The transfer window of the Nigeria National League (NNL), which has opened officially,, will come to a close on April 22, 2021, organizers of Nigeria’s second-tier league have announced.

A release issued by the NNL, dated 12th April and which was signed by its Chief Operating Officer (COO), Emmanuel Adesanya, urged clubs to exploit the window to strengthen their teams where necessary.

The NNL according to the release, also requested all clubs to conduct a fresh covid-19 test on returning players from the mid-season break, before the commencement of the second half of the season.

The league body also announced officially that the 2020/21 season is on two weeks break, effective from 11th April 2021, with the season scheduled to resume on the 23rd of April, in both the Northern and Southern Conferences.

The release added that action in the two conferences will resume at the same time, to forestall any form of advantage before the Super 8 tournament, adding that the date on the fixtures, may be adjusted, especially in the northern conference.

Meanwhile, the league body, expressed appreciation to God for the smooth ending of the first round, even as it appreciated Club officials, the State Football Associations, Match Commissioners, Appointment Committee, and the Referees Appointment Committee, for keeping faith with the League Management despite its shortcomings in the first half of the 2020/21 league season.
