NNL: GREEN BERETS FC GETS NEW GROUND, PROMISE PROMOTION TICKET

Nigeria Army team popularly known as Green Berets have finally moved to their new base in Zaria, Kaduna State, from Ibadan where they would be hoping to challenge other clubs for the NIgerian National League, NNL, sports247.ng reports.

 

 

According to the Media Officer of the club, Thompson Oladimeji who told the newsmen on Monday said the Green Berets, after landing in Zaria for the serious business ahead, have been playing several tune up matches to prepare them for the new league season.

 

One of such tune up matches is the on-going Challenge Cup where they played Giwa Academy today at their new home ground, Dogarawa stadium, Zaria, beating their opponents by 3 goals to nil.

 

On the scoresheet were Issa Francis in 41st minute of the 1st half, while Mohammed Monday scored a brace in 74th and 84th minutes respectively.

 

The Green Berets team got motivated with the presence of the Director of Sports, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Olatoye among other top ranking officers in the company of the Director.

 

The Green Berets won the hearts of the Dogarawa stadium fans as they chanted songs of support for the team, assuring to stand by them in all their games in the NNL and ensure they get promoted to the elite Nigerian Professional Football League.

 

The team which is made up of only personnel of the Army and currently managed by Assistant, Musa, will play their next match against a Zaria-based Bimo FC on 10th April, 2019, by 4pm.
