NNL: FC Nilayo Manager Rues Missed Chances In Lost Against Vandrezzer FC

FC Nilayo lost 1-0 to Vandrezzer FC on Saturday evening in the match week two of the 2021 Nigerian National League (NNL) season.

Speaking after the game, head coach of the side, Sunday Olusoji lamented his players missed chances and reassured that his team would do better in their next game.

He told Sports247: “It was a good game. Actually, it was a good game from both sides. We had clear chances but my boys couldn’t take them. We will go back and work more. We’ll take our chances in the next game.”

Although some questionable calls made by the match officials went against his side, Olusoji sees no need to blame the referee for the result.

“Well, referees are humans like us. I am not a referee so I will wouldn’t blame him.

“He made his decisions and I think he knows best so I wouldn’t fault him. Let the game go.”

On the prospect of Nilayo gaining promotion to the NPFL, Olusoji confidently said; “Sure, we have the team that can take us to the NPFL. You saw the game yourself. We just need some little corrections here and there.”
