The Nigeria National League (NNL) has expelled Sporting Supreme FC of Abuja from the league following the club’s failure to honour two consecutive fixtures in the 2025/2026 league season.
In an official statement released by the league body, the NNL confirmed that Sporting Supreme FC did not show up for an away fixture against Jigawa G’Stars FC (Match No. 23) and also failed to honour a Matchday 26 home fixture against Ranchers FC. The repeated absence triggered disciplinary action in line with the league’s rules and regulations.

Club Expelled, Matches Nullified
The league further ruled that Sporting Supreme FC’s failure to honour two consecutive matches warranted immediate expulsion from the competition.
As a result:
Sporting Supreme FC is expelled from the Nigeria National League with immediate effect.
All matches played and unplayed by the club this season have been cancelled.
All points for and against the club have been nullified, effectively removing their results from the league standings.
Five-Year Ban for Club and Officials
In addition to the expulsion, the NNL imposed a five-year ban on Sporting Supreme FC, including its management and officials, from participating in the Nigeria National League in any capacity.
This decision, according to the league, is in strict accordance with Article 3.7 of the NNL Rule Book, which outlines sanctions for clubs that fail to meet their league obligations.
The development serves as a strong warning to clubs on the importance of professionalism and adherence to league regulations, as the NNL continues to enforce discipline and protect the integrity of the competition.
