NNL: Ekiti Utd vs Ibom FC Match Called Off For Unavailability of Players Licence

Ekiti United FC and Ibom Youth Football Club were set to play thier Match day 18 game in the Nigeria National League NNL when it was called off due to claims by the Akwa Ibom based club.

According to reports coming from the camp of Ibom Youth Football Club, pre-match formalities were done and both teams were ready for the encouter slated for 4:00pm Saturday evening, but reports says that the hosts, Ekiti United Failed to produce thier players registration licence which is a compulsory requirement for every game in the NNL.

This incidence led to the calling off of the game due to the inability of the host club to provide the said players licence after Ibom Youth FC had completed all pre-match formalities. It was said that the match officials and match commissioner acted upon an instruction given by the NNL board.

Sanctions and information has not been put across yet as at when this report was being filed and Ekiti United as remained mute on the issue but according to Ibom Youth FC, they will be on thier way back to Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium on Thursday morning to start preparation for thier match day 19 encounter with Bendel Insurance on Saturday 25th June 2022.
