NNL 2019/20: NIGER TORNADOES, REMO STARS PLAY FRIENDLIES

With the Nigerian national league said to be purportedly resuming on the 14th of March 2020, clubs are intensifying their preparations for the resumption of the league with lots of friendlies.

Niger Tornadoes who are fourth in group A1 of the league, were involved in a friendly with NPFL side, Wikki Tourist at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi yesterday.

The Tornadoes lost the match 2-1 but gave a good account of themselves against the NPFL side who currently sit mid-table on the NPFL log.

Earlier, Tornadoes had defeated 3SC Bauchi 5-1 in an impressive outing at the same venue as the team now shift attention to the start of NNL.

In Ogun state, Sagamu based club Remo Stars today defeated Knights FC at the Gateway International stadium by a lone goal.

The goal scored by Miracle Nwautobo via the penalty spot gave the team a lift in confidence ahead of a cumbersome season. Miracle Nwautobo had hours before scored a hat trick as the sky blues beat Ante International 3-0.

A day earlier, Remo Stars had defeated Power of the Cross FA 2-0 with goals from Moses Ajine and Moses Ajiboye.
Since the indefinite suspension of the national league, clubs have been involved in different friendlies to keep shape ahead of the league’s resumption
