Nnadozie: ‘The World Is Not Ready for What Africa Has!’ — Keeper Celebrates Third Successive Award

Chiamaka Nnadozie has cemented her place as Africa’s undisputed goalkeeping queen after winning the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award for the third consecutive year—and she says the honour still “means a lot” to her every single time.

The Brighton & Hove Albion shot-stopper, who previously won the award in 2023 and 2024, delivered one of the standout speeches of the night as she encouraged African goalkeepers to believe in their rapidly growing global influence.

Fresh off receiving her award in Morocco, Nnadozie declared boldly:

“The world is not ready for what this continent is about to offer.”

She said the dominance of African goalkeepers is no longer a distant dream, stressing that the gap between Africa and the world’s top keepers is closing fast — and soon, African shot-stoppers will be competing shoulder-to-shoulder with the best anywhere.

Nnadozie’s consistency, composure, and commanding presence have made her one of the most influential figures in African women’s football. Her rise has coincided with a surge in the visibility and competitiveness of African women’s goalkeepers globally, and she continues to lead the movement with confidence and pride.

Reflecting on her historic three-peat, she said the award only fuels her hunger:

“It doesn’t make me complacent. It pushes me to work harder — and it should push every African goalkeeper too.”

She also used the moment to salute her colleagues across the continent, reminding them that Africa’s goalkeeping future is bursting with potential:
“We are coming, and very soon, we will be contesting with the best in the world.”

As she lifted her third straight crown, Nnadozie didn’t just celebrate an individual triumph — she sent a message loud enough for the world to hear:

Africa’s time between the sticks has truly arrived.
