Nnadozie Says Super Falcons Staying Focused Amid WAFCON Excitement

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has stated that the Nigeria women’s national football team remain calm and focused despite growing excitement ahead of the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Nnadozie explained that while there is considerable anticipation surrounding the tournament, the team is determined not to get carried away by the hype and expectations.

“We are not overwhelmed by the WAFCON euphoria,” Nnadozie said.

The goalkeeper noted that the players are concentrating on their preparation and taking their campaign one step at a time as they aim to defend their continental crown.

“Our focus is to take things step by step,” she added.

According to Nnadozie, the Super Falcons understand that they will be the team many nations want to beat, given their strong history and dominance in African women’s football.

“We know we are still the team to beat,” she explained.

The shot-stopper emphasized that any team hoping to dethrone Nigeria will have to work extremely hard to achieve that goal.

“Any team that wants our crown will have to work very hard for it,” she stated.

Nnadozie also highlighted the importance of maintaining discipline and focus throughout the competition, noting that tournaments like WAFCON require consistency and strong teamwork.

“We must remain focused from the first match to the last,” she said.

The goalkeeper, who has become one of the key figures in the squad, believes the team has the experience and quality required to compete strongly once again on the continental stage.

“We have the players and the experience to compete at the highest level,” she added.

She concluded by reiterating that the team’s mindset is centered on preparation rather than pressure.

“We will keep working hard and stay focused on our objective,” Nnadozie said
