Head coach of Smart City Football Club, Gafarri Mohammed is full of confidence that Messiah FC would fall again when both teams clash on Sunday afternoon in the ongoing nationwide league one, NLO.
The much anticipated match would hold by 1pm at the Alade sport stadium,Ipaja Command, Alimosho, Lagos.
Mohammed disclosed this after he watched Messiah suffered 1-2 to Synergy recently at the astro turf of the national stadium, Surulere.
In a chat with sports 247.ng, Mohammed boasted that he was coming to Messiah home to beat them saying that anything short of victory would be a huge disappoinment.
“After we beat them in Lagos FA Cup,I was able to watch Messiah recently and I am confident that we can still beat them again,” he said.
Mohammed admitted that their match against Messiah is always tough but insisted that Messiah would suffer another defeat again.
Mohammed revealed that his players are in good form and they are ready to shock Messiah in their home ground.
When Messiah met Smart City in their home,the encounter could not finish as a result of controversial goal given to home team by the center refree.The controversial goal and lack of security during the pulsating tie forced team manager of Messiah, Deji Beecroft to order his team to leave the pitch.
Smart City defeated Messiah in round of 16 of Lagos FA Cup.The encounter ended 2-2 at the regulation time before Smart City won 5-4 on penalties.
The Sunday match would be a third time both teams would clash in the competitive competition.
A defeat or draw to Messiah would put them in precarious position on the table.A victory for Smart City would make them comfortable on the table.
