The decision followed resolutions reached at the Extraordinary Congress of the NLO, held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, via Zoom.
Congress members deliberated on several operational issues affecting the league and approved key adjustments after considering complaints raised by a majority of club owners.
One of the resolutions is a two-week extension of the club registration deadline to allow teams complete documentation and meet financial obligations.
The new closing date for registration is March 14, 2026, with the league stressing that the extension is final.
Clubs have been urged to take advantage of the window to avoid last-minute challenges or possible exclusion from the season.
In a major policy shift, the Congress also approved a return to the stadium league format for the upcoming campaign.
The NLO said the decision was taken in response to concerns over logistics, rising costs, and administrative challenges associated with the home-and-away system.
Under the revised arrangement, matches will be played at designated neutral centres, as previously practiced by the league.
The earlier proposed format has now been deferred to the 2027 season.
The league board said the move aims to reduce the financial burden of travel and facility management on clubs while ensuring smoother operations.
According to the NLO, the resolutions reflect its commitment to stakeholder engagement and sensitivity to prevailing economic realities.
Detailed schedules for designated centres and updated fixtures will be released through official NLO communication channels in the coming days.
