When asked to describe the game, Haruna Ibrahim of Spartans FC said in an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng, “the game was nice with plenty of intensity.”

“While the draw wasn’t what we had hoped for, it’s still a point in the bag and we hope to win the next time around.”

As this was his first season in NLO, Haruna’s goal is to go on to the very end and win the competition.

With only one out of nine matches played, there is still plenty of time for Spartans FC to qualify for the next round.

Expressing enthusiasm about his team’s chances of success in NLO 2022/2023, he stated confidently that “nothing is impossible. After nine matches, people can qualify for the next round in two minutes.”

Haruna plays in the center-back position and hopes that his team will have a successful remainder of the season.

The NLO is Nigeria’s third-tier football league and in 2022 (the last year of the decade in question), had 344 clubs spread across the country’s six geopolitical zones and the FCT. The league provides young Nigerians with an opportunity to develop their skills and reach their full potential while promoting community, respect, inclusivity, and growth.
With over 20,000 players, coaches, officials, and over 8,000,000 match-day attendance per season, the NLO represents a significant opportunity for businesses to achieve their objectives.
The NLO’s primary objectives are to reposition the league as a key resource base for other local and international leagues, professionalize its operations, and generate interest from corporate organizations.
