Bauchi-born youngster Ese Peter has emerged as one of Nigeria’s most promising football talents after impressing during FC One Touch’s three-month tour of England, where his flair, versatility, and composure caught the eye of coaches and scouts alike.
The 18-year-old winger, who plays for FC One Touch of Bauchi State, was part of the team’s international development programme between May and August 2025, featuring in a series of high-intensity friendly matches against youth sides across England and Scotland.

Known for his blistering pace and confident dribbling, Peter proved to be a standout performer throughout the tour. Despite being a natural left winger, the youngster was asked to play in central midfield in several games — a tactical experiment that highlighted his intelligence, technical range, and adaptability.
His most memorable display came against Watford FC U21, where he returned to his preferred role on the wing and scored a superb goal, demonstrating the poise and precision that has become his trademark.
Following their matches in England, the team moved to Scotland for an invitational tournament, with Peter once again making his presence felt. Although he was not among those selected by European clubs after the tour, his determination, maturity, and skill left a lasting impression on observers.
Sources within the team described Peter as “disciplined, focused, and full of potential,” with coaches tipping him for future professional success abroad.
While FC One Touch are set to embark on another European tour — this time to France — Peter will remain in Nigeria to continue training and building on his progress.
Despite not making the latest traveling squad, the teenager’s performances in England have positioned him as one to watch. Those close to him believe his European breakthrough is only a matter of time.
“Peter’s attitude and talent are special,” said a team official. “He may have missed out this time, but his future in football is bright — very bright.”
