Sports247 gathered that Tikolo recently threw in the towel after just two years in the saddle, and Onikoyi declared that the Kenyan tactician is leaving behind him a long list of achievements.

The former skipper added that players of all categories – male, female, young and old – have many glorious things to remember about Tikolo’s days in Nigeria’s cricket sector.

“It’s been nice working with him. The time was short, but it was very memorable, and it was worth it. I met him years before he came to Nigeria to coach our team.

“I was so happy he came around, and I was able to work with him. So, I thank him for his efforts, all the work he put in, and his zeal,” Onikoyi recounted.

He added that Tikolo was able to carry everyone along because of his friendly nature, and he was always willing to face other aspects of the wicket game beyond his primary assignment with the men’s senior team.

“It’s obvious that people followed him all over the place, and young players tried to work more. They all tried to put in extra effort.

“Apart from working directly with the men’s national team, he also invited the junior ones to come, including the ladies as well.

“So, I say thanks to him for his time, and we all wish him good luck anywhere he goes in the future,” Onikoyi interceded.
