Nigeria’s female table tennis team’s captain, Ajoke Ojomu has showered applause on her colleagues and coaches for making their victory possible at the ITTF Africa West Regional Championship in Lagos.
Sports247 reports that the USA-based ping pong ace was full of joy after leading the team to a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic in the final, but she quickly added that it was not her efforts alone that made the feat possible.

Ajoke Ojomu pointed out, “It was a collective effort and teamwork. I was not the only one who did it. This victory was achieved by the whole team.
“My coaches collectively were also so much in contribution to our success. The coaches did a good job in planning the team for this event.”
Incidentally, the team’s effort also ensured that they booked a ticket to this year’s African Table Tennis Championship scheduled to hold in Kigali, Rwanda, and Ojomu is already banking on more joint efforts to see them through on the continental stage.
The skipper reckoned that they would be able to play better with more collective efforts, as she hailed the players and thanked the coaches for all their efforts during the regional competition in Surulere, Lagos.
“My team players all put in their collective effort to get a clean sheet in every match we played here. So, I’m proud of my team, and I’m grateful to our coaches,” Ojomu concluded.
She added the ladies’ singles title to her haul on Saturday after defeating Shukurat Aiyelabegan 4-0 (11-7, 11-8, 11-5, 14-12) during a one-sided final at Teslim Balogun Stadium.
