Nigerian Trio Lead FC Gintra To 8–1 Victory Ahead Of UEFA Women’s Champions League Qualifiers

Nigerian defender Oluwadamilola Ronke Kuku played the full 90 minutes and provided a key assist as FC Gintra defeated FC Flora Tallinn 8–1 in a Baltic League fixture.

Kuku started in defence for the reigning Lithuanian champions and contributed both defensively and offensively in the one-sided win. Fellow Nigerians Bunmi David and Victoria Igbonoba came off the bench and each scored to cap a dominant performance by the Nigerian contingent.

The result comes as FC Gintra prepares for the upcoming UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifiers, where they will face Farul Constanța of Romania and Vorskla Poltava of Ukraine.

Kuku, speaking after the match, said she remains focused on continued improvement and helping her team succeed in Europe. “I kept believing in myself,” she said.

The three Nigerian players are expected to play key roles as FC Gintra looks to secure a place in the 2025/2026 UEFA Women’s Champions League.
