Akaunu, who previously spent six years at Liverpool’s academy and had trial spells with Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Wolverhampton Wanderers, joins Bournemouth’s U-18 squad as one of six new external signings this summer.
The winger, eligible to represent both Nigeria and England, is expected to make his debut for the Cherries’ U-18 side on August 9 in the Professional Development League South opener.
His deal runs until June 30, 2027, and he will work under U-18 head coach James Lowy as he continues his development in one of England’s top youth football environments.
