Nigerian teenage striker Solanke Patrick Nimi has vowed to stay focused on his football development despite attracting attention following a standout performance at the ongoing Dana Cup in Denmark.
The Provazios FC product, currently representing Gaiters Football Academy of Ogun State, came off the bench in his first appearance at the tournament and netted a hat-trick, helping his side to a crucial victory. The performance quickly earned applause from fans and scouts at the youth tournament, one of the most prestigious in Europe.

Solanke had earlier made headlines in Nigeria when he finished as the top goal scorer at the Bayern München Youth Tournament in Lagos. However, he was not included in the final 20-man selection, a decision that left many observers surprised.
Despite that setback, the young striker remained undeterred and focused on improving his game. Speaking through academy representatives, Solanke emphasized that while recognition is welcome, his priority remains hard work and steady progress.
“He’s not getting carried away,” said a Gaiters academy staff member. “He knows the road ahead is long and is committed to staying grounded.”
Solanke Patrick joined Gaiters on invitation from Provazios FC and has continued to make the most of every opportunity, showing clinical finishing, composure, and tactical awareness.
The Dana Cup continues this week in Hjørring, with Gaiters Football Academy aiming to advance further in the competition. Solanke is expected to play a key role in the team’s remaining matches.
Observers say his ability to stay focused despite early setbacks and recent praise may be what sets him apart in the long term.
