Italian club Como 1907 have announced the permanent signing of Swedish forward Zebedee Kennedy, a promising youngster of Nigerian roots, from Mjällby AIF ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Born in 2010, Kennedy developed through the youth ranks of GIF Sundsvall before joining Mjällby AIF in 2025. The talented attacker has already represented Sweden at both Under-15 and Under-16 levels, scoring four goals in 10 appearances for the Scandinavian youth national teams, Sports247 reports.
Known for his pace, physical strength and eye for goal, Kennedy will now continue his development within Como’s BiancoBlu youth academy as he takes another important step in his young career.
Sports247 gathered that Como 1907 Head of Development Osian Roberts expressed his excitement about the club’s latest addition, highlighting the teenager’s attacking qualities and potential for further growth.
“Zebedee is a clinical and physically strong striker with a great instinct for goal. He has already demonstrated his abilities with the Swedish youth national teams, and now we will do our best to help him continue his development here in Como.
“We are extremely happy to welcome Zebedee and his family to the club,” Roberts said.
Kennedy also expressed his delight at completing the move to Italy, describing Como as an ideal environment for the next stage of his footballing journey.
“I am very happy to have joined this club and this city. I can’t wait to make myself available to the club. I think Como is the perfect place for my development,” the young forward said.
The move represents an important milestone for Kennedy, who will now have the opportunity to develop within an Italian football environment while continuing to build on his experience with Sweden’s youth national teams.
His Nigerian heritage also adds another layer of interest to his developing career, particularly as he progresses through the youth ranks and continues to attract attention for his performances.
At only 16, Kennedy has already taken significant steps in his football development, and his move to Como provides him with a new platform to sharpen his skills and pursue his ambition.
